Prayer Letter
Dear All at Fellowship Bible Church,
Thank you for your prayers and support.
Thanks for your prayers regarding my upcoming deputation trip.
I
was able to get the letters written and have been following up with
some phone calls. Most of the Sundays are now filled but few of
the mid-week services are. So do please continue to pray that the
Lord would open doors for me to share my ministry.
Thanks for your prayers regarding Deaf Kids Club. I mentioned
last month that Deaf Kids Club attendance has been down for
several months. After talking and praying about it, we decided to
take a break this summer and re-group. We did send out a flyer to
the kids telling them there would be no Deaf Kids Club this
summer but reminding them that we still have Sunday School and
church each Sunday. One boy has been pretty regular in coming to
church since then and another brought a visitor this past Sunday.
Please continue to pray for these kids’ salvation and growth.
Almost since the beginning of the ministry it’s gone up and
up --
both numerically and in spiritual growth. There’s an excitement
in
a new ministry that is infectious. It’s been a blessing to
see that
growth. The excitement doesn’t last forever in any new thing
and
now we are facing consistency issues with some. Also a couple of
our guys recently announced they will be going elsewhere at the
end of the summer. One is from the previous church (lives half
way between) and is going back there. They have been a blessing
and have we will miss them. Some of the others are feeling
discouraged. Do keep praying for us that this will be a
strengthening time for these young believers.
Each month in Fairfield there’s a “deaf pizza night”
at one of the
local pizza parlors. It’s a secular get together. The same
day as
pizza night we are having a scavenger hunt nearby. Two ladies and
I went through the area taking pictures of things that were then
cropped. Each team will get copies of the pictures and have to
identify what/where the pictures were taken. We are encouraging
people to invite their unsaved friends to this outing. After we
finish up, we’ll have a devotional and then those that want
to can
go on to the pizza parlor. Pray for a clear presentation of the
gospel at this social. Thanks.
