Visiting Us on a Typical Sunday

We would be delighted to meet you any day of the week, but of course our big day of the week is Sunday.

Where? 2710 Ralston Avenue in Belmont, click here for driving directions. If there is no parking available in our lot, street parking is available on Hillcrest Avenue, Belmont Canyon Road, and across the street at Lassen Street.

When? 8:15 am or 11:00 am for Sunday services. The 2nd service tends to have more people, so join us at 8:15 to beat the crowds. Both services run between 75 and 90 minutes. Please also join us for the Sunday school hour nestled between the services from 9:45-10:45 am. Sunday school classes are taught by our own volunteer church members.

What happens during a typical service? We worship God through song (more about our musical worship style here), we pray for each other, we hear announcements, and we hear a message from God's Word. Our style is less formal than a Catholic Mass or Lutheran service (we don't tend to do a lot of reading-out-loud or have a Order of Service which scripts the entire service word-for-word). Don't worry: we'll tell you when it's time to stand up or sit down.

How?
Come as you are. Members  dress in a range from business casual to business formal. We recommend bringing your Bible if you have one; if you don't, we have some in the pews.

What about my children? Please bring your children! Our nursery for children 3 and under is staffed during both services and during the Sunday school hour. School age children (age 3 or pre-K and up) are welcome to join our junior church services (which run concurrently with the adult services at 8:15 and  11:00 am) or Sunday school (we have classes for all age groups -- just ask one of us, and we'll guide your kids to the age-appropriate classroom).

Are there special Sundays? Naturally. Each year, we host a Christmas brunch sometime in December, a missionary conference in the spring, an abbreviated schedule during Easter (when the church typically enjoys its annual Easter retreat offsite). Just give us a ring at 650-591-1322 to double check.

Do you teach Sunday school every week? Yes for the kids, high school age and below. For college age and up, we teach Sunday school every week except the first Sunday of each month, when we host events that encourage people from 1st and 2nd service to meet each other. These events rotate between a social we call Circulate and Percolate, an all-church prayer session, and an all-church communion service. Check the calendar to see what's happening on these first Sundays of the month.
