MinistriesOverview | Missions Committee
The church members who serve on the Missions Committee share a common thread in that each has somehow been touched by God's love and goodness as the result of missionary work. They may have been on a short term mission and had their eyes opened to the profound need in the world for the Gospel to be heard. Or they have had their hearts burdened by learning of the challenges faced by our missionaries or uplifted by hearing their accounts of souls won to Christ. The Missions Committee seeks in some small way to serve the missionaries supported by FBC, as the servants out in the mission field are truly the eyes, feet and hands of the FBC church family, seeing, going and reaching out to a world in need.Besides arranging for the regular support of the missionaries, the committee also tries to meet the special needs that arise, whether they be monetary, spiritual, or personal. The committee also oversees the annual Missions Conference which allows church members and visitors to meet new missionaries and reconnect with those FBC already supports while learning of the great things God is accomplishing all over the world through missions. And throughout the year, the Missions Committee serves as the liaison between the church family and FBC's missionaries, and also seeks to promote and enable short term mission trips for members of the church family. |
