Prayer Letter

Just got back from a wonderful church in central Mexico and some wonderful experiences of God’s protection and blessing upon the preaching of His Word. In recent years four of the church families there have been kidnapped (one killed, other three forced to raise great sums of “ransom monies” to pay for their release). One dear brother who took me home for dinner had just two or three days earlier been driven off the highway by a car coming alongside with two men pointing their guns at him. They stole his car and billfold. Graciously, God intervened, and within a day or two his abandoned auto was found and returned (in need of some repairs) and his billfold, sans the money, was also returned. God showed this dear brother and his loved ones very special kindnesses.

Not many of these dangerous events end so happily. Mexico today is a dangerous place, but God is certainly working so very faithfully. All the preaching services were so well attended on Sunday morning and for the evening services. There were full houses around a thousand or more each service. Wednesday evening again a nearly full house. Monday and Tuesday evenings we were privileged to preach to well over 200 Bible college (four-year school) students. Such attentive, eager, and responsive preachers, evangelists, and national “missionaries-in the-making”!

Souls were saved, baptized, and many other decisions were made—PTL! Thank you so much, We will be very grateful for anything you dear partners are led to do or not to do. We count you among our dearest and most faithful partners in the gospel.

Maranatha! Yours very gratefully—under the same Feathers,
Dick and Margine Mercado
